I have a Christmas tradition. It's not decorating the tree with the 'rents. It's not caroling around the neighbourhood. There is one thing that I set out to do each year during the holiday season. I must sit down and watch Die Hard. I know. That may seem a little off kilter but it takes place during Christmas so it's kind of a Christmas movie.
Die Hard was the first action movie my parents took me to see way back in 1988. It was the movie that had the perfect blend of action and humour and it taught us it was okay to laugh at violence. And it's been 10 years since we last saw John McClane put one to the baddies in 'With a Vengeance'. We're due!
I've been told that, in December, a second draft of the "4.0" screenplay is to be handed in to the Twentieth Century Fox Execs and also Cheyenne Enterprise's Bruce Willis and Arnold Rifkin, who are producing the movie for Fox. Writing duties were provided by "Die Hard 2: Die Harder"'s Doug Richardson, who also penned the upcoming Willis starrer "Hostage" as well as "Money Train" and the original "Bad Boys".
Word has it John McClane is going to be finally retired in this fourth installment of the hugely successful franchise. Bruce will be back. John McTiernan won't. Just as long as they don't bring back Renny Harlin I will be optimistic about this one's chances.

Watching Die Hard on Christmas is also a family tradition in my household. It's a shame part 3 was a summer flick.

Oh thank the maker. I thought I might have been the only one the held that tradition.
