DVD Answers is reporting that Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow will hit DVD on February first. The full spec sheet isn't out yet, but it will be available in both full screen and widescreen editions and will include two commentaries, deleted scenes, a gag reel, Konran's original six minute short used to pitch the film, and behind the scenes features.
Now, somebody answer me this: in a film like Sky Captain - where the visuals are really the only reason to see it - what could possibly be the point of releasing a full screen edition? You're cutting out nearly half of the only thing that makes the film worthwhile! Surely we've gotten over the 'I hate the black bars' thing by now ...

mate, it will be on dvd before it's even shown here in australia. then again, thats pretty common. shit, it's cheaper to import the dvd from the states than to take the family to the movies anyways. still keen to see this on the big screen but.
