Who Wants Free Stuff? We're Juicing Up The Alexander Giveaway!

alexander.jpgOkay, kids. Got a crush on Colin Farrell? Long to have Angelina Jolie looking over you as you sleep? Never fear, we have the answer. Warner Brothers, being the giving sorts that they are, are giving away copies of the official one-sheet poster and official soundtrack for Oliver Stone's Alexander and we've got one of each for you. That's right, boys and girls. When we originally put this up they'd only offered us a poster, but we're now giving away both a poster and a copy of the soundtrack.

Here's the deal. We're going historical. Answer three, relatively simple true or false questions correctly and your name goes into the pot. When the contest closes we'll draw a name at random from all of those who got all three questions correct. That person will win both the poster and the soundtrack. Simple, yes? The contest will run for two weeks, which means your entry must be received by midnight of November 22nd to qualify. The questions are below, send me your answers here. Got it? Good ... here we go:

1. True or false: Alexander the Great was not actually Greek.
2. True or false: Homosexuality was such a widely accepted practice throughout ancient Greece because they believed that women were incapable of higher emotion and, thus, true love could only be experienced between two men.
3. True or false: Alexander received private tutoring from the famed philospher Aristotle.

And since I'm in a generous mood, I'll give you a little hint ... the answers to all three questions are the same. All true or all false, you've got a fifty-fifty chance ...

Hello there. I am a frequent visitor of your page and I am also Greek.

So, without wanting to spoil your quiz, I can assure you that NOT all questions are true or all are false.

I dont claim to be a historian or anything, but how certain are you that all questions are either true or all are false?

Either that, or they are teaching us rubbish in school.

I would be glad to discuss this privately if you'd prefer it that way.

Thanks

I'm certain of what I was taught in my university classics and philosophy courses ... I did an entire course on Alexander at one point. There's always some scholarly disagreement on any point but these all point dominantly in the same direction ...

I'd be curious to know which one you'd argue with, though ...

Is this open to North Americans only? Saying that, I know about as much about Alexander the Great as Disney do about making a decent film, so it probably doesn't really matter! However, if you dont shot you dont score

I asked a few people [all greeks] and it seems that you *might* be right in a loose way :)

Anyway, I guess we will have to wait till the contest is over until I can be able to voice my objections.

I find myself wanting to like this movie....wanting not to hate colin ferrel.....wanting a very good idea to be done well...wanting to feel like it's not going to suck bigtime....but....

David: Actually, you don't score if you don't shoot!

Kevin: Ditto, I agree, I would like this to be great flick, if only for the sake of Sir Anthony Hopkins. However these present day epic pic's don't seem to pack the same bunch as a past
C.B. Demille...but then I'm just a sucker for things nostalgic.
